A monument to Rubén Darío and the cathedral in León where the poet is buried are the subjects of the 100 córdobas of the series that from 2009 circulated alongside Nicaragua’s first polymer notes.
The front shows the monument to Rubén Darío, the back León Cathedral: it was built between 1747 and 1814, it is regarded as the largest cathedral in Central America, and in 2011 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The note is printed on cotton paper: in this series the 10, 20 and 200 córdobas were moved to polymer, while the 100 remained paper. It bears the date 2007.
The 100 of 2007 sits well next to the 500 córdobas of 2015: León Cathedral on both notes shows how one subject passes from series to series. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
